Primordial Sound Meditation
Whoe are You? What are you grateful for? What do you really want? What is your Dharma or purpose in life?
Primordial Sound Meditation Practice gives you the opportunity to ponder these questions. You may or may not have an answer to these questions and they may change with time. But the practice allows you to get intouch with your true self. The person you were at the moment you were born, before you were changed by the world is the person God made. At that moment there was a comfort, a sound according to the time and place you were born. This sound is called your "Bija" or "seed".
When you receive your Mantra from your Chopra Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher, this "Bija" will be part of your mantra.
What is a Mantra? A Sanskrit term that translates as "vehicle of the mind," a mantra truly is a vehicle that takes you into quieter, more peaceful levels of the mind. Think of Gregorian chants. Everything you hear has a vibration. There are 108 of these sounds. David Simon and Deepak Chopra studied these 5,000 year old Vedic teachings and revived this ancient practice of sound meditation. They then created a format that’s easy to learn. It is calculated following Vedic mathematic formulas. When you silently repeat your mantra in meditation, it creates a vibration that helps you slip into the space between your thoughts, into the complete silence that is sometimes referred to as "the gap." Your mind is no longer caught up in its noisy internal chatter and is instead exposed to its own deepest nature: pure awareness
Many years ago we needed to have the ability to run in the face of a lion or to turn and fight when needed. Although we rarely need these responses now to save our lives, we still have this response 8-15 times per day and take hours to come back into balance. If we just keep piling these moments one on top of another, our bodies become saturated and we begin to think these stress responses are are a normal part of our lives.
